Introduction to Pricing

ClearSKY offers a flexible, tiered pricing model based on your total ordered area. Our model is designed to reward customers with large orders and/or many smaller orders with discounts. You can explore pricing details in action through our ordering site at order.clearsky.vision by estimating exact orders.

Ordering Options​

We provide two ordering methods:

  • Composite Ordering:
    This is our default ordering method, where you can order custom areas as small as 1 km², giving full flexibility in selecting areas of interest. If you order an geometry smaller than 1 km² it' still accepted but billed as 1 km².

  • Tile Ordering:
    Tiles offers a 90% discount compared to composite orders by requiring orders in predefined internal tiles (5120 x 5120 pixels each). Tile ordering is ideal for bulk data requirements, making it a cost-effective option for extensive coverage needs. For smaller but still coherent coverage needs, we also offer minitiles with a 50% discount. Minitiles are 320x320 pixels in size and can be ordered together with tiles.

Model Base Prices​

Each of our deep learning cloud-removal models can have a different base price per km²:

  • Stratus-2: 0.2 EUR per km²
  • Stratus-2 (No Snow): 0.2 EUR per km²

Satellite Base Prices​

Satellite data inputs are priced separately for optional satellites chosen by the user, not those required by the model.

  • Sentinel-1 Satellite: 0.04 EUR per km²
  • Sentinel-2 Satellites: 0.04 EUR per km²
  • Sentinel-3 Satellites: 0.02 EUR per km²
  • Landsat 8 & 9 Satellites: 0.02 EUR per km²
  • Amazônia-1 Satellite: TBD
  • CBERS-4 & 4a MUX: TBD
  • CBERS-4 & 4a WFI: TBD
  • ResourceSat-2 Satellite: TBD
  • ResourceSat-2a Satellite: TBD
  • EOS-04 Satellite: TBD

These prices remain consistent across all models, though satellite availability may vary depending on the selected data processing model. They are cumulative if you choose to include multiple optional satellites in your order.

‘Usage Units’ Discount System​

Our Usage Units (UU) Discount System calculates discounts based on monthly usage accrued through both composite and tile orders. Every order made within a month contributes to a single monthly usage total. Usage units are reset monthly, and each month’s orders count toward that month’s discount.

Each model and ordering type contributes points at different rates:

  • Stratus-2 (Composite): 1 UU per km²
  • Stratus-2 (Minitile): 0.50 UU per km²
  • Stratus-2 (Tile): 0.10 UU per km²

Usage units (UU) are cumulative within each month and apply to all models and order types, providing combined discount eligibility based on the total usage units accrued. For example, here are the discount tiers for the Stratus-2 model:

  • 0 – 5,000 UU: No discount
  • 5,001 – 50,000 UU: 75% discount
  • 50,001 – 500,000 UU: 90% discount
  • 500,001 – 5,000,000 UU: 95% discount
  • 5,000,001 – 50,000,000 UU: 96% discount
  • 50,000,001 – 500,000,000 UU: 97% discount
  • 500,000,001 UU and beyond: 98% discount

This cumulative approach ensures that all orders — whether composite or tile-based, and regardless of size — contribute to the monthly total, allowing even multiple smaller orders to achieve higher discount tiers. Every month, the points reset and new points begin accumulating from zero.

Minimum Order Pricing​

To ensure a consistent and transparent pricing structure, the following minimums apply to all orders:

  • First Month Minimum:
    Each new tasking order has a minimum cost of 50 EUR for the first month. If your total order cost is below this amount, a flat charge of 50 EUR will be applied for said order. This ensures a baseline for processing any new orders. After the first month, recurring orders are billed based on actual usage or tasking requirements, without the 50 EUR minimum.

  • Monthly Account Minimum:
    Regardless of individual order sizes, if you have a recurring order, you must maintain a total monthly spend of at least 50 EUR across all recurring orders. If this threshold is not met, a flat charge of 50 EUR will be applied to your account for that month.
