Introduction to Pricing
ClearSKY pricing is designed to be simple, predictable, and flexible.
- You top up order credits in EUR to purchase imagery.
- Your per-km² rate is set by your monthly EUR spend tier and the model you choose.
- Subscriptions control support, limits, and features. Usage is always pay-as-you-go via top-ups.
You can estimate costs and place orders in the dashboard at dashboard.clearsky.vision or via the API at api.clearsky.vision.
Across examples in the docs we use Nimbus unless stated otherwise. You can still choose Stratus-2 as an alternative.
Ordering options
We support two order shapes. Pick the one that fits your area selection workflow.
-
Polygon Ordering
Flexible free-form geometries as small as 1 km². If a polygon’s extent is less than 1 km² it is billed as 1 km². -
Tile and Minitile Ordering
Predefined internal tiles sized 5120 × 5120 px (tile) and 320 × 320 px (minitile).- Tiles: 80% off the model base rate (you pay 20% of polygon price).
- Minitiles: 50% off the model base rate.
Tiles and minitiles can be mixed in the same order.
Use the WKT helper at polygon.clearsky.vision to edit and fix geometries before ordering.
Model base prices
Model choice sets the base rate before any tile or spend discounts.
- Nimbus: €0.10 per km²
- Stratus-2: €0.20 per km²
Tile and minitile discounts apply as multipliers to the model base rate. Example: a Nimbus tile costs €0.10 × 0.20 = €0.02 per km² before monthly spend discounts.
Satellite inputs
Optional satellite inputs are priced per km² and add to the model rate when selected by you. Required inputs for a given model are included with that model.
- Sentinel-1: €0.04 per km²
- Sentinel-2: €0.04 per km²
- Sentinel-3: €0.02 per km²
- Landsat 8 and 9: €0.02 per km²
- Amazônia-1: TBD
- CBERS-4 and 4a MUX: TBD
- CBERS-4 and 4a WFI: TBD
- ResourceSat-2: TBD
- ResourceSat-2a: TBD
- EOS-04: TBD
Some models require specific inputs and may limit others. See the Cloud-Removal Models Guide for satellite requirements.
Spend-based discount tiers (monthly)
Your effective €/km² rate gets cheaper as your total EUR spend in the current calendar month increases. Tiers apply automatically during the month and reset on the first of the next month.
Monthly spend range | Stratus-2 | Nimbus |
---|---|---|
€0.00 – €1,000.00 | €0.20/km² | €0.10/km² |
€1,000.00 – €3,000.00 | €0.05/km² | €0.075/km² |
€3,000.00 – €12,000.00 | €0.02/km² | €0.05/km² |
€12,000.00 – €50,000.00 | €0.01/km² | €0.025/km² |
€50,000.00 – €400,000.00 | €0.008/km² | €0.02/km² |
€400,000.00 – ∞ | €0.006/km² | €0.015/km² |
How progressive tiers work
Pricing is progressive (marginal), not retroactive:
- The first euros you spend in a calendar month are billed at tier 1.
- When you cross a threshold, only the next euros (and their km²) use the cheaper tier.
- Previously billed usage is not repriced.
- Tiers reset on the first day of each calendar month.
Example (Nimbus, polygon, no optional satellites):
Tier 1 = €0.10/km² up to €1,000. Tier 2 = €0.075/km² from €1,000 to €3,000.
- First €1,000 → 10,000 km² at €0.10/km²
- Next €600 → 8,000 km² at €0.075/km²
- Total: €1,600 for 18,000 km²
Credits and expiration
ClearSKY uses two credit types:
- Order credits (EUR) — pay to create orders. This is the default onboarding path.
- Processing credits — used when you download data from orders.
All credits expire 12 months after top-up. Approved customers can be enabled for backwards invoice payment based on actual monthly usage. Contact [email protected] for access.
Minimum fees and recurring orders
- New order fee: €2 per new tasking order at creation time.
- Recurring orders: Optional. After the first month, recurring orders are billed on actual usage without the €2 fee.
Subscriptions for support and features
Subscriptions control support levels, API limits, and features. Usage is always pay-as-you-go via order credits and monthly spend tiers.
See Subscription & Billing for plan details: Free, Starter, Growth, Business, and Enterprise.
